A lovely place for the whole family to visit. Sunnyside is a 2 hectare lifestyle property in the Perth hills. Wild birds thrive alongside horses, ponies and poultry. You can help feed the animals and learn a little about their care at the same time. Enjoy garden features such as the large pond fringed with lilies and reeds, enhanced by a waterfall, jetty and arched bridge, as well as the colourful rose arbour under-planted with flowering annuals.
Admire the shrubs and herbaceous borders that surround the lush lawn areas, appreciating that this is being sustainably achieved with off-scheme water. See that the side and rear gardens have their own unique styles but are united by having ornamental plants interspersed with food plants which help feed the household.
Notice the extensive new plantings of trees and shrubs that surround the paddocks and riding arena as well as the fruit and nut trees that have been planted within the poultry pens. Carefully placed in the garden are quirky, colourful ‘people doll’ tableaux that garden owner Caralyn Lagrange uses to illustrate her children’s stories.
