Libby’s small garden in Wembley Downs is gorgeous, and packed with inspiring details and beautiful plants, even fitting in a fruiting lemon tree. She has taken imaginative advantage of the slope to design a garden on three different levels. The front lawn area is surrounded by a formal neatly clipped hedge of Viburnum Suspension, with a central feature of an exquisite little brick and tile miniature cottage, complete with shutters and decorated with tendrils of Boston Ivy. It is the prettiest garden shed I’ve ever seen! In the shade of the Crepe Myrtles, pots of Azaleas add extra colour and charm to this level.
The second tiered garden has a magnificent wisteria covered walkway with fragrances from Pierre de Ronsard, Pinky, Crepescule and Lamarque roses. The narrow walkway has a trellis of Jasmine and pots of succulents, and a beautiful wall hanging of succulents – interesting features are everywhere you look.
The top tier of the garden has an eye-catching Trumpet Vine (Pyrostegia Venusta) covering rear walls. An eclectic collection of cottage plants and hedges surround the lawn.
