About Josh’s Garden

Dr Josh Byrne is best known for his role as the WA presenter on ABC TV’s Gardening Australia program and his innovative sustainable housing project in Hilton is well known to Gardeners who have followed the progress of the garden over the past five years.

This water wise and productive garden is a great opportunity to see Josh’s sustainable ideas in practice.  Josh’s House typifies the very best of sustainable urban landscaping and integrated urban water management. The gardens incorporate climate sensible plantings, locally sourced and repurposed building materials, native species and habitat structures, as well as food production activities including vegetables, fruit trees and chickens. Josh’s House has also been designed for families, with creative play spaces and a thoughtful combination of shared and private areas.

Josh’s House is a sustainable home and garden project created by ABC TV Gardening Australia presenter Josh Byrne that showcases the very best of sustainable design and urban water management. Visitors will have a rare opportunity to see how the garden has established and get some behind the scenes glimpses of this now iconic TV garden.
