About the Dixon Garden
This home and the attractive permaculture garden were designed along passive solar principles. Upcycling and recycling in an attractive way has been the driving theme in this quirky garden. Designed by Garden Deva, in collaboration with the creative and DIY owners; it is child, adult, chicken and wildlife friendly – the garden boasts many points of interest and hidden delights. Found and recycled objects have been artfully placed within the garden in both practical and sculptural ways, featuring a washing machine fire pit and an arbor made from tree boughs. The edible landscape is extensive, including bush tucker, exotic fruit trees, vegetables, herbs and happy chickens.
Deciduous fruiting grapevines are trained along the pergolas providing summer shade and winter sun. Native plants and a hidden frog pond attract wildlife for both beauty, entertainment and pest controlling qualities. If you like something a bit creative and different, this garden is for you!
